Theodore Marine dominates AMIF Awards
After four years of hard work, 10 finalist awards and three commendations, Theodore Marine said it hit the big time winning two 2008 Australian Marine Industry Federation (AMIF) Awards and two Commendations at a gala ceremony held on the Gold Coast recentThe Theodore 720 Offshore won the 'Fishing Trailable - Fibreglass Over 6m' category, the 720 Open Coastal took honours as best 'Dayboat' and the 720 Soft Top Coastal received a Commendation in the 'Cruiser Trailable - Fibreglass Over 6m' category.
And the winning didn't stop there, said the boatbuilder, as the judges were so impressed by the 720 Offshore that they awarded the boat a Special Commendation saying: "The Theodore 720 Offshore is a worthy contender for the overall Boat of the Year. It delivers a hull full of innovation and clever touches for serious fishermen."
Theodore Marine managing director, Jim Theodore, said he was over the moon after the presentations.
"We've been bringing boats from South Australia to the Gold Coast for judging since 2005 and while we have come close on many occasions we have never been able to crack it for a win," said Theodore.
"To pick up two AMIF Awards and two Commendations in 2008 has made all the hard work worthwhile," he said.
