Enter the Oronero. The world’s first convertible yacht tender. The manufacturer calls it the 'limousine of yacht tenders' and with its folding hard-top roof, luxurious leather trim and sumptuous fitout downstairs, we don’t doubt it.
The Oronero is 39 feet long (or nearly 12 metres) so you’ll need a pretty big boat to make it your tender.
To keep the weight of the tender to a minimum the Oronero's hull and hard-top are constructed completely from carbon fibre, which carries through to the interior where it is combined with oak and leather for that luxury ambiance.
Other features include opening gunwales on both sides so that himself or herself don’t have to clamber over the sides when the vessel docks. There’s a dinette and galley below (the dinette converts to a queen-size bed, of course), a head with separate shower, TV.DVD, oh and it’s all air-conditioned.
The Oronero is powered by two 280hp diesel hybrid engines and a 3kW generator supported by rooftop solar panels to provide up to two hours of cruising at speeds of seven knots on electric power, or up to eight hours at speeds of 22 knots on diesel.
No word on price, but if you've already got a luxury yacht in need of a limousine tender, price probably isn't a concern. Further information is available at the Alex Pirard Yacht.
