The Golden Snapper Challenge 2013

Melbourne anglers out to catch a tagged snapper and win $10,000
Victorian anglers who registered their entry by 12pm Saturday, November 9 are now in the running for the $10,000 cash prize in the inaugural Exide Batteries Golden Snapper Challenge 2013.
Organised by the Futurefish Foundation, a non-profit charitable organisation, the annual Golden Snapper Challenge 2013 aims to raise money to help improve the future of recreational fishing.
This event is open to any person who registers by the deadline and fishes within the current Victorian Recreational Fishing Regulations, including being licenced (unless exempt.)
Only anglers correctly entered and lodged in the competition by 12pm, Saturday November 9, 2013, shall be eligible to collect the prize. The competition is now officially underway.
Five snapper, Pagrus auratus, have been caught, externally tagged and released by qualified Fisheries Victoria staff member into Port Phillip Bay in the last week. These fish must be caught on rod and line, four rods per person as per Fisheries Regulations 2009.
When a Golden Tagged Snapper is caught, the registered competitor must call 0456 631 874. The tag must not be removed from the snapper. The prize will not be allocated if the tag has been removed.
The $10,000 cash prize is a single prize only with no reinstatement. Prize money will be paid to the winning angler within 45 days following confirmation.
The results of the Exide Batteries Golden Snapper Challenge 2013 will be announced on the Futurefish Foundation website. See
