German luxury-car modification company Mansory has revealed a fully pimped 550hp Sea-Doo at the Frankfurt Motor Show, reveals our carsales.com.au motoring spies on the show floor.
The so-called Black Marlin luxury ‘ski’ isn’t available here as far as we know, but the exclusive carbon fibre design is worth a look just to sea what’s possible when you want to modify a Sea-Doo.
The maritime jet racer has been designed, pimped and repowered “for the demanding watersports enthusiast,” who we presume wants to outrun the authorities and ride on the edge.
Based on the Sea-Doo RXT-X 260 RS, the Black Marlin sports a ridiculously powerful 550hp engine that is said to be in the final testing stage. This is more than twice the HP of the stock RXT-X-260. With 60lt of fuel, it’s a blat-down machine.
During the modification process, Mansory says it was able to fall back on its decades of expertise with working with carbon fibre.
Use of this extremely strong, ultra-light material has saved up to 10kg in weight – and, at the same time, the Mansory designers have given the jet ski a significantly more dynamic, aggressive design.
The carbon-made structures, combined with a handcrafted modified seat made of special seawater-resistant artificial leather, make the Black Marlin a luxurious eye-catcher.
A must have for every mega-yacht’s boathouse, says Mansory. Were not sure of legalities of driving this weapon Down Under, but we’ll add it to our test list when next in Germany.
