Using the catchphrase “not only a boat, a lifestyle,” Comitti offers some of the finest runabouts with classic “dolce vita” styling on the market today.
Mark Riley from Marine Riley in Sydney says a new Comitti 28 Elegance will debut at 50th Sydney International Boat Show in Darling Harbour this year. He’s imported the sporty boat for a Melbourne client.
Ranging from 22-34ft, the beautiful Italian-made dayboats are built in fibreglass or full mahogany, each with sumptuous seating, handmade fittings and a lively turn of speed from an inboard engine.
Founded in 1956 by Mario Comitti on Lake Como, where the 3500 square metre yard remains today, Comitti is said to represent the pinnacle of Italian wooden-boat building tradition.
Mario’s son Elia has continued building the classics his dad introduced more than half a century ago, using the finest materials and construction methods. The resulting handbuilt boats are for connoisseurs who appreciates the value of fine craftsmanship and true Italian nautical style.
We’re told the Comitti 28 Elegance on display at the Sydney International Boat Show in August will be powered by 320hp MerCruiser for a top speed of 49 knots.
"The boat has been ordered by an enthusiast in Melbourne who wanted style and seaworthiness for cruising the bay," Mr Riley adds.
