Ten years of Maritimo

Aussie manufacturer celebrates a decade

Australian luxury cruiser manufacturer Maritimo launches into the 2013 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in its 10th year with a number of exciting new models on offer.

Founded by boating industry stalwart Bill Barry-Cotter Maritimo has reached a number of major milestones in recent times, not the least of which was the Maritimo Racing’s World Offshore Powerboat Championship win in the US late last year.

"We have come a long way since we started in 2003 and I am pleased to say that despite the challenges thrown at us by the high Australian dollar and the GFC we have continued to design and manufacture new models, improve our standards and quality and maintain our momentum pushing into new and existing international markets," said Barry-Cotter.

"New models like the M58, the M50 and now the S50 have struck a chord with the boat-buying public and we have some exciting things planned for the remainder of 2013."

Maritimo CEO Garth Corbitt said the strategy adopted by Maritimo to increase quality across its range and to continue to refine design and technology aimed at producing better performance and fuel efficiency was paying dividends.

"Maritimo vessels have always had a reputation for sound sea keeping ability, fuel efficiency and performance, but we have built on that and improved our benchmarks in all areas.

Mr Corbitt said 10 years on, Maritimo was a much more efficient business and its customers were the major beneficiaries.

Maritimo sales and marketing manager Greg Haines said the finishes and fixtures provided in all new Maritimo and Mustang models were of the highest quality.

"Customer research showed us this was an area which was of utmost importance to buyers so we have raised the bar to meet that expectation," he said.

"Feedback, particularly in the US, has been extremely positive and the new full-beam master suites that we have been able to deliver in vessels right down to the M45 have proved to be enormously popular."
