Telwater opens its doors

Leading aluminium boat manufacturer offers guided factory tours

If you've never been on a tour of a boat manufacturing facility, here's your chance.

If you own an aluminium boat, are thinking of buying an aluminium boat, or you're just plain interested in boats, this is the tour for you.

Australia’s leading aluminium boat manufacturer, Telwater, is opening its doors for the first time and offering guided tours of their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

Telwater’s boat brands includes Quintrex, Stacer, Savage and Yellowfin plate boats.

A tour of the Telwater factory offers the public an exclusive look at the innovative construction process of Australia’s favourite tinnies.

The Telwater factory is located on a four hectare site at the Gold Coast’s Marine Precinct and includes a small-boat factory, large-boat factory and packaging factory.

The free, guided tours offer a rare opportunity to view the complete manufacturing procedure including the process of plasma cutting; pressing and welding of marine grade aluminium, through to custom-designed paint booths and the complete fitout stage of each boat.

Telwater tells us that the company currently has a team of over 250 staff including welders, painters, carpenters, engine technicians and storemen all offering the highest quality of workmanship and dedication to their brands.

And with a committed research and development team, Telwater is continuously bringing innovative designs and advanced technology to the boating market.

The Telwater Factory currently produces more than 300 boat models ranging in size from two to seven metres, producing up to 50 boats a day and over 12, 000 boats annually.

Telwater Director of Sales and Marketing Damien Duncan said it was the first time members of the public could jump online and book in for a tour time: "We have always had a lot of demand when it comes to factory tours -- it is something our customers have continuously requested so we are excited to announce we now have this unique experience available," Damien said.

Tours are free of charge and bookings can be made online only, with a select number of dates available and limited spots, so get in quick.
