Taking the diced carrot out of fishing

The punters aren't puking nearly as much since a Kaikoura fishing charter operator traded in his traditional V-hull boat for a Stabi-Craft, said the NZ boatbuilder

Justin Smith, of Top Catch Fishing Charters, calculates a 40 per cent reduction in seasickness since he launched his 859 SuperCab a year ago, said Stabi-Craft.

"It's a lot more stable in the water and it seems to have stopped the seasickness," said Smith.

"The people that used to come and get sick just don't get sick anymore," he said.

And that's a relief for Smith, said Stabi-Craft, considering he was the one tasked with cleaning up the boat, Hard Yakka.

The 859 was custom-made with a shortened cabin to create a larger deck area.

"Having the positive buoyancy of the Stabi-Craft and the safety it provides, means I can go farther offshore which is good," said Smith.
