Tahiti Pearl Regatta

Plans are heating up for the Tahiti Pearl Regatta, a four-day event combining sailing races and Polynesian festivities, to be held March 9–12, 2006.

Festivities will include the regatta around the islands: Raiatea the sacred, Tahaa the vanilla island, Huahine the wild and Bora Bora, the pearl of the Pacific.

Participants can look forward to the beat of the Toere at the start line, the vivacious Tamures of the local bands during the race-stops, the taste of the fresh coco offered on the finish line and of the fish cooked on the coral, the garlands of scented flowers, the perfume of the Tahaa vanilla, the feeling of the warm tropical water, the wind in your sails, and the warmth of the sun...

Each race winner will be congratulated with wooden trophies from a local artist. The overall winning crew will also win pearls and nights in the fabulous Tahaa Pearl Resort.

Visit the webiste at www.tahitipearlregatta.org.pf for more information and to register to participate.
