Sydney Trailerboat & Outdoor Leisure Show

Open this weekend at Sydney Olympic Park with loads of bargain boats and gear, free entry and family entertainment
Boating enthusiasts are in for a treat this coming weekend of March 15-16 with the running of the Sydney Trailerboat & Outdoor Leisure Show.
Many would be familiar with this event after it started more than 50 years ago at Silverwater Park near the old Boat Club.
Over the past 10 years the trailerboat show has resided at Rosehill. But this year sees the event move to Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park (near Homebush), to take advantage of the larger exhibitor space.
Visitors to the show will be able to see a great array of trailerboats for most budgets and boating tastes, plus stacks of boating gear. Organisers, the Boating Industry Association of NSW (BIANSW), says it will be a great day out for boating novices and enthusiasts alike.
The show will feature rafts of the latest fibreglass and aluminium boats, all manner of relevant marine engines, canoes and kayaks, fishing and general boating accessories, much of it at end-of-summer clearance prices.
More than 60 exhibitors, among them many of the state’s leading marine dealerships, will be displaying their marine wares and standing by ready to assist beginners and keen buyers. Look for the special deals on offer, including the imported trailerboat 2013-2014 models being runout to make way for the new 2014-2015 releases.
Leading insurance provider, Nautilus Marine Insurance, is just one marine player who has backed the move to Sydney Showground. Managing Director, Lyndon Turner was immediately on hand to offer support and sponsorship for the event.
“We believe the show is a perfect fit for our products, we view boating as a fun and safe activity and our team will be on board at the show to help make the event enjoyable for all who attend,” Turner added.
To further support the show, Nautilus Marine has joined the show organiser in putting together the Nautilus Marine Insurance Entertainment & Education Precinct.  Visitors can see fishing demonstrations at the Supertank, hear from experts about looking after your engine, buying a boat, as well as tips for maintaining your trailer.
To add to this, visitors can meet the Nautilus Boating Stars, including fishing fanatic and sporting star Andrew Ettingshausen, wakeboarding sensation Josh Sanders and PWC champion James Masterton.
Kids can take the opportunity to pop into the GWS GIANTS Kids Zone for a whole lot of fun and activities.  On the Saturday, those with a passion for footy will find it convenient with the Sydney season kick off of the AFL taking place at Spotless Stadium next door. The 4.40 pm scheduled start of the game between the GWS GIANTS and the Sydney Swans is timely.
Admission to the boat show is free and it will operate from 9am to 5pm on both days. There is easy access from the suburban rail network with the Olympic Park station located directly opposite the showground entrance. For those who prefer to drive, there are numerous parking options, including street and relatively low-cost parking stations.
BIANSW says it really is an event not to be missed. For more information about the show, what to do and how to get there, check out the shows website at www.MyOutdoorLife.com.au.
