Sydney to Newcastle waterski marathon

Ski 4 Kids with Cancer on this Sunday
Weather gods willing, the annual Ski 4 Kids with Cancer waterskiing marathon from Sydney Harbour to Newcastle Harbour will take place this Sunday, April 21.
It’s one of the most exhausting skiing events in the world, covering around 120 kilometres of open water with both one-up and team divisions for men, women and junior (under 16) competitors.
“The fittest skiers can do the 120 kilometres by themselves but others are more confident if they can take it in turns,” organiser Glenn Geary said.
Funds will support Hunter Medical Research Institute researchers in their battle to find cures for childhood cancers.
Starting Time will be at 9am from Shelley Beach at Manly and it’s envisaged that all boats should complete the course between 90 minutes to two hours.
The finish flag will be near Hogs Breath Cafe and the Crowne Plaza on Newcastle Harbour. Boats will be retrieved from Carrington Boat ramp.
