Boaters and jet-skiers are reminded of a NSW Government crackdown on dangerous and anti-social riding of jet-skis in and around the Georges River, Botany Bay and Port Hacking.
Roads and Maritime Services and NSW Police began enforcing a range of new measures from 1 January, 2016.
On the Georges River the eight knot speed limit zone will be extended by two kilometres.
It will now apply from the downstream end of the existing four knot Picnic Point area to near the entrance to Mill Creek.
It will also extend from upstream of the Picnic Point speed area to the entrance of Deadmans Creek to include the Sandy Point boat ramp.
New measures will also include increased high visibility and covert patrols through greater numbers of Boating Safety Officers, and the suspension of personal watercraft licences for reckless, dangerous and negligent behaviour.
A dedicated complaints hotline has been set up on 13 12 36 for the community to report incidents of dangerous or anti-social behaviour and compliance issues.
Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.
