Sydney City Marine opens this year

The advanced Sydney City Marine (SCM) maintenance facility is scheduled to open later this year at Rozelle Bay

The complex will showcase world-class technology and competitive prices when it comes to lifting capacity, painting facilities and on-site services, said the shipyard.

There will be a 600-tonne shiplift and another rated to 100 tonnes, plus a 47-tonne submersible trailer. There is 6200m² of open hardstand and 3200m² undercover.

Painting is in purpose-built booths of 38m x 15m, with a second booth 15m x 7m. SCM said that with some of the latest technology, including air-extraction and filtration systems, they will provide an optimum environment for coatings to be applied.

Trades and contractors will include mechanical engineers, stainless steel fabrication, shipwrights, riggers, spray painters, electrical, marine diving and salvage, trimmers, detailers, engine servicing and repair, all on the one site.

The SCM complex will also include a marine coatings and consumables supplier and chandlery.

SCM will have the capability to handle superyachts up to 55m and a beam of 13m.
