Sydney builder puts Kokomo up for sale

Dubois-designed cruising sloop on sale for $45m

Lang Walker, the Sydney property developer who has a fleet of yachts and motor boats all called Kokomo, has put his giant Dubois-designed cruising sloop Kokomo up for sale for a staggering $45 million (Euros 28 million).

Walker had the 170-foot (51.7m) aluminium sloop built by Allow Yachts in New Zealand three years ago and has since sailed it around the world -- when he is not competing the Farr 40 championships or cruising in his 120-foot motor yacht.

Now located in Europe, the luxury superyacht has been listed by superyacht broker Fraser Yachts -- a group that specialises in boats more than 100 feet (30m) long.

Kokomo was designed by Dubois Naval Architects and the interior designed by Redman Whitely Dixon. She has cabins for 10 guests and nine crew.

As well as all the usual luxury fittings, the yacht has a large spa built into the foredeck just ahead of the mast.

Powered by a single Caterpillar engine, Kokomo carries 36,000 litres of fuel and has a range of 5000 nautical miles under power at a speed of 12 knots.

The yacht, which is registered in the Cayman Islands, has a stern garage that opens to take an 18-foot RIB tender.
