Yamaha will display three updated outboard engines at the up-coming Sydney International Boat Show opening August 1.
The F9.9 and FT9.9 have received an upgrade with a sharper appearance as well as ergonomic improvements. The tiller handle has been redesigned at a more convenient length and features a comfortable-to-use forward-mounted shift lever within easy reach.
For ease of transport, a large carry handle has been built into the steering bracket and a new rest pad on the rear of the engine has been added to assist the user when storing or transporting the engine horizontally.
Along with the 9.9, Yamaha’s F60, F50 models have received an updated cowling design bringing the appearance of these engines in line with other models in Yamaha’s fourstroke range.
Yamaha says that the F50 and F60 have long been regarded as class-leading engines. Utilising the advantages of a four-cylinder design, the F50 and F60 deliver smooth and responsive performance. Their reputation for durability and reliability continues in the updated models, says Yamaha.
The update to the cowling design brings the appearance of these engines into line with Yamaha’s popular F70A. The newly updated cowling design applies to both F models and FT models in the 60 horsepower variant.
