To commemorate its 20-year milestone, Sailfish has released the new Sailfish S7 Limited Edition which will be unveiled at the Sydney boat show.
"We want people to enjoy the feeling of getting the ultimate trailerable fishing boat knowing that all the boxes have been ticked with regards to options and accessories and there is nothing more to spend," said Gavan Daly, leading Sailfish dealer and director of Webbe Marine.
“Twenty years is a great triumph for the team at Sailfish and we have spent months working on a product that is sure to impress," he added.
These are bold claims but ably met by the list of standard inclusions on this maxi trailerboat.
It starts with the Sailfish’s Hydroflow Gen 2 hull as a platform. On top of this is an enclosed glass hardtop with lockable rear door to form awheelhouse arrangement that gives the driver a feeling of confidence if the weather turns.
But the radical departure for Sailfish is the setup of the forward berth area, which sees two full-length bunks running bow-stern with an electric toilet and miles of storage.
"Traditionally we set up the forward berth running port-starboard which is great for couples but is not as practical for fishing mates. This configuration allows for extended overnight trips with individual sleeping arrangements that are two metres long... a real winner," said Sailfish’s Darren Foster.
The forward berth also features a full-flush toilet that does not need the bunks to be re-arranged to be accessed.
The cabin and helm area is bright and visibility is outstanding with glass windows maximising the full height between the cabin and the hardtop with standard windscreen wiper. Side opening windows allow for natural ventilation.
Designed for the enthusiast who spends long hours at the helm, the dash ergonomics and driver comfort have been given loads of thought. "Our customers regularly rack up 200 hours a year so driver comfort is a huge focus for us," Foster says.
The expansive cockpit features innovative arrangements for a sink and stove, under-gunwale lighting, gaff rack, LED work lights and a hybrid non-skid treatment to the floor.
Fisherman are spoilt with underwater lighting, a welded cutting board with LED work light and salt-water tap, live well with viewing panel and internal LED to fully maximise night fishing and a high-pressure deck wash.
The boat is powered by a pair of 135hp Honda four-stroke outboards which are fed from two 175-litre fuel tanks.
Price is quoted at $129,990. The new boat is under construction and the image accompanying this article is a generic one of a smaller Sailfish cat in fishing mode.
