SYDNEY BOAT SHOW: Quinnie tinnies and Stacer racers

If it’s an alloy boat you’re after, consider these stand-out new 2014-model Quintrex and Stacer releases

The Australian tinnie market is certainly alive and well and, as ever, there will be plenty on show at the Sydney International Boat Show from July 31-August 4.

The rafts of tinnies range from calm-water dories and barra' boats through to ocean-capable hard-top fishing machines. Five halls covering 25,000 square metres at the Glebe Island undercover exhibition space will be home to our quintessential tinnies.

While we can’t list all the boats on show – Stacer alone has 74 models covering seven different ranges – we can say that over the past year there have been plenty of new releases from the biggest players.

This brings us to Quintrex and Stacer, whose new and exciting models will be on display with NSW dealers at the show. Here’s are a few of our favourite Quintrex and Stacer releases from 2014. Quintrex remains Australia's favourite boat brand and this year has seen a big push to branch out into bigger and better bluewater models.

QUINTREX
- 650 and 690 Trident HT
Quintrex’s new-release Trident Hard Top is one seriously tough offshore weapon to be displayed at the Sydney International Boat Show for the first time.

The Trident Hard Tops come in two sizes: the 650 (LOA 6.69m) and the 690 (LOA 7.07m).

Featuring the Quintex Blade Hull and Flared Bow design, the Trident is constructed with longitudinal and latitudinal ribs to reinforce strength and create a precise hull shape every time.

The Trident Hard Top design means you can enjoy your boat in all weather conditions, with a laminated hardened glass windscreen, sliding side windows and a standard windscreen wiper kit for an interrupted view.

The 650 Trident HT has all your fishing favourites as standard features like the new, wider and deeper bait station complete with a cutting board, five rod holders, knife sheath and cup holders, while the 135-litre kill tank has plenty of room for those take-home catches.

Some of Sydney’s most well-known dealers, Hunts Marine, TR Marine and Terrace Boating will be attending the Sydney International Boat Show this year to showcase the Trident Hard Top among other new favourites, such as the Cruiseabout, Fishabout, Explorer and Renegade models.

STACER

- From tournament fishboats to family rigs and a neat new runabout
Stacer released a whole bunch of new boats this year including the Assault Pro tournament boat (pictured in red), the Sea Runner cuddy (pictured) for the whole family, the Seaway Runabout and Easy Rider bowrider for more fun, and the Proline Angler for the estuary and inshore angler. You can click

A Stacer favourite, the 429 Seaway has fresh new look for 2014. Pitched as the perfect entry-level runabout, the 429 Seaway features a new hull that's wider and deeper than previous models, with a 2.08m beam and more free board creating superb stability underfoot.

This year, the 429 Seaway has been upgraded from the flat transom in favour of a new pod style, which Stacer says not only aids stability but provides better flotation.

Stacer National Account Manager Drew Jackson said while the 429 Seaway had always been a popular model as an entry level runabout it has been re-worked to keep up with customer demand.

"Our new 2014 Seaway is rated to carry up to five people which is a huge change and great for families looking for a manageable runabout they can still take the kids out in."

"Other major changes to our 429 Seaway include 3mm bottomsides and new rating of 50hp so there is plenty of power behind this boat.

"The 429 Seaway is always a big seller for Stacer and with the new design we expect it to be a favourite at the Sydney Show," Drew said.

Stacer Boats has four dealers showcasing new models at this year’s Sydney Boat Show – Blakes Marine, Huett Marine, Neken Marine and Coast to Coast Boating.
