If the wide blue yonder with wheeling birds, flying fish, screaming reels, jumping marlin and deep-slugging tuna is your calling in this 'boating life' then the new Hatteras 45EX is for you.
An express-style gamefisher with tower, the Hatteras is making its Australian debut at Sydney International Boat Show.
The importer and expert fishing crew at Game & Leisure Boats on the Gold Coast were thrilled to be involved in the boat's Sydney delivery. That didn’t take long.
"It's just the best machine," said importer and expert game fisher Graham McCloy. "We're cruising at 35-36 knots. We did Gladstone to Bundaberg, 90nm, in 2.5 hours. We did Bundy to the Gold Coast, 220nm, in seven hours."
"It's quieter than the other boats, smooth as silk. The five-blade props have a venturi system that sucks in air to cushion the water hitting the hull behind the props at high speed. It's just so smooth."
Powered by a pair of 1150hp Caterpillar C18ACERT diesel engines, this is a high-speed fishing weapon topping out at more than 40 knots and cruising and mid-30 knots. First out, first hooked-up, and first home.
The fully optioned fishing weapon has the upgraded Caterpillar C18 engines, Cat 360° system giving joystick control, Pipewelders Tower, Rupp Hydraulic Riggers, full custom teak cockpit and helm deck, twin electric teaser reels, Pompanette gloss teak rocket launcher and more.
Doubtless the fishing boat of the show. Check out the Hatteras 45EX on the marina at Sydney International Boat Show. There might be a queue. From $2.1 million for this dream fishing machine.
