Australian anglers will soon be able to see and experience the new Hatteras 45 EX, the first of the all-new Hatteras Express Series and the first of its kind in Australia, making its local debut this week at the 2015 Sydney International Boat Show (July 30 to August 2).
Showing the significance of the Sydney launch of the new model, Hatteras Yachts will be represented at the show by Bruce Angel, Senior Vice President of Product Development and Engineering and Tom Sanders, Senior Vice President of Hatteras Yachts to provide first-hand insight for visitors.
"This is true testament to this one-of-a-kind new model," said Graham McCloy, from Game and Leisure Boats. "The company is exceedingly proud of the ground-breaking 45 EX."
Described by John Ward, President and CEO of Hatteras Yachts as "much more than a fresh twist on a classic", the Hatteras 45 EX offers owners an array of configurations, styling options and features that make it supremely versatile for the professional angler or weekend cruiser.
"The Hatteras Express Series raises the bar in design, engineering, and performance for the inboard express market segment," he said at the Hatteras 45 EX launch at Fort Lauderdale Boat Show in October 2014.
"Owners will enjoy not only an abundance of amenities, but also a significant reduction of overall noise levels and vibration that you would typically experience on an inboard express boat of this size."
Hatteras says the brief for the Hatteras Express Series was to offer significant standard features and luxurious content as part of the base boat, far exceeding boats in its class.
Standard features include a resin infused solid fiberglass hull bottom, integrated hardtop, a large single-pane forward windshield, and Hatteras custom-engineered sound deadening materials and systems to reduce overall noise and vibration.
For the Australian market, the 45 EX’s features include Australian electrical 240v/50hz fully compliant, upgraded 1150hp Caterpillar C-18 engines x 2, Cat 360° system giving joystick control, Pipewelders Tower, Rupps Hydraulic Riggers, full custom teak cockpit and helm deck, two electric teaser reels and Pompanette gloss teak rocket launcher.
"Hatteras continues to build the best fishing boats on the market, and this new 45 Express is a great example," said Graham McCloy.
"We are certain Australian anglers and the cruising market alike will recognise the significant R&D that underpins the new generation Hatteras 45 EX. This category-breaking model will appeal to hardcore fishos and fun-loving families and we can’t wait to reveal the first model into the country at the Sydney Boat Show."
