Always an enthusiastic exhibitor, eyachts has a 10-boat
The big news for those look for alternate power is the new Greenline 39 Hybrid and Greenline 48 MK2. The Slovenian-built boats offer diesel and optional electric hybrid propulsion systems, with the latest 39 also adding a lot more glass and cleaner design lines to the marque.
The Sealine S330 and C330, on the other hand, are sportscruisers with sterndrive power that are both keenly priced and spacious with their Bill Dixon designer Euro-flavoured layouts.
The Axopar fibreglass dayboats from Finland are the big success stories, however, growing from a fledgling company that built superyacht tenders into a thronging factory making sleek outboard-powered cruisers for today's global day-boaters and weekend warriors.
The Axopar range from 24-37ft has been popular on Sydney Harbour and Pittwater as commuter boats. The Axopar 24 T-Top, which has accounted for five boats sold here in the first month following its launch, now sports an upgraded 250hp outboard rating for 44 knots.
But the new Axopar 37SC (Sports Cabin) and Axopar 37 are the boats making the biggest waves with the weekending set. You get accommodation, outdoor galleys, bathrooms and lots of protected seating, along with slippery low-drag hulls and twin outboard power.
There will also be Outer Reef representation at the Sydney boat show. These long-range passagemakers are well known for their liveaboard amenities and accommodation in high-volume stable hulls.
