Suzuki's new big-block 150hp and 175hp outboards
The new 2.9lt DF150AP and DF175AP four-stroke outboard engines are based on the proven DF200APSuzuki has released its new four-cylinder DF150AP/DF175AP four-stroke outboard engines that utilise the same 2.9lt big block and technology as the
DF200AP we reviewed here.
Including the innovations from the DF200AP released back in April, 2015, the new DF150AP and DF175AP are essentially de-tuned 200s that are said to offer the same lightweight and compact design while boasting the largest displacement in their respective classes (2867cm3) for more grunt.
The new 150hp and 175hp outboards also feature a higher 10.2:1 compression ratio for more power and exceptional acceleration and low end torque, says The Haines Group, distributors of Suzuki Marine outboards in Australia and New Zealand.
Suzuki’s Selective Rotation, a key feature of the AP models, means the motors can be configured for either regular or counter-clockwise operation for vessels equipped with multiple engines.
Options available with the DF150AP/DF175AP include the new Suzuki Precision Manoeuvring joystick system, which utilises Suzuki Precision Control to provide fully integrated electronic throttle, shift, steering and joystick control for a seamless driving experience and simplified manoeuvrability.
