Suzuki: longer outboard warranty for commercial operators

Coverage now extends to two years for a range of new outboards sold from May this year…

Suzuki Marine recently boosted the factory warranty period for commercial operators who use a range of its new four-stroke outboards, with two years or 1500 hours of coverage now applicable to models from 2.5hp to 325hp.

Alternatively, commercial operators can opt for one year of coverage with unlimited hours. Should the outboard's operating hours exceed 1500 hours during the first 12 months, the warranty will revert to the one year/unlimited hours coverage.

The warranty begins from the date of registration or commissioning, and owners also have the option of transferring the balance of the warranty if the outboard is on-sold to another party.

According to Ty Hawkins, Suzuki Marine National Service Manager, the move will only bolster Suzuki's reputation in the commercial sector.

"Suzuki has been the power of choice for an array of commercial operators for many years as our outboards are highly regarded for their reliability, quality and exceptional performance," he said.

"We want to reinforce our commitment to our commercial customers by continuing to offer them the ultimate four-stroke outboard and backing our product by extending their warranty for a further 12 months without charge."

The outboards concerned must be manufactured from 2018 on and be serviced as per the recommended schedule at an authorised Suzuki agent.
