
Suzuki Motor Corporation has achieved an accumulated global production of three million outboard motors. Suzuki started producing outboard motors in 1965 and reached this milestone mark in July 2014.
Suzuki started its development of outboard motors in 1962 and launched the first outboard motor, the D55, in April 1965. Since then, Suzuki has developed a wide lineup of outboard motors that meets the market demands of various countries around the world.
Suzuki outboard motors are produced at the Toyokawa Plant (Aichi Perfecture, Japan) and also at the Thai Suzuki Motor Co., plant in Thailand. Currently, outboard motors from the DF40A up through the DF300AP are produced at the Toyokawa Plant. While the portable outboards from the DF2.5S up through the DF30A outboard motors are produced at the Thai Suzuki plant.
