The new DF100 features cutting-edge technology and is built around a 1948cc in-line four-cylinder Double Overhead Cam (DOHC) powerhead with four-valves-per-cylinder for plenty of muscle, said distributor Haines Suzuki Marine (HSM).
HSM general manager, Greg Haines, said the DF100 was designed to give boaties unprecedented power on the water, without compromising fuel efficiency.
"The engine features digital multi-point electronic fuel injection, a tuned and water-cooled intake system and a water-cooled fuel rail to optimise power and performance, together with Suzuki's race proven 4-into-2-into-1 exhaust system," said Haines.
"Suzuki's proven offset driveshaft moves the DF100's centre of gravity forward, for an overall compact design and better balance on the transom," he said.
Available in 20 and 25-inch shaft versions, this combination of size, balance and power makes the DF100 ideal for a range of applications, including small centre consoles, fishing boats, runabouts, aluminium boats and recreational craft.
Haines said Suzuki's powerful 2.59:1 final drive ratio delivered quick holeshot.
"Thanks to Suzuki's wealth of high-performance features, the DF100 also delivers great top-end performance, and the fuel efficiency to expand your cruising and fishing horizons," said Haines.
The DF100 along with 2009 new releases the Suzuki DF70, DF80, and DF90, were unveiled for the first time at the Miami International Boat Show on February 14.
The all-new DF70, DF80, and DF90 offer new options in power and performance to Australian boaties, with the DF90 slated to be the lightest and smallest four-stroke outboard in its class, said the distributor.
All three engines are now available in Australia and NZ, and are available exclusively through the Suzuki Marine dealer network.
Haines said the three new engines would redefine power options in the Australian and NZ market.
"At the core of each of these new four-strokes is a new, more compact four-cylinder DOHC powerhead with four-valves-per-cylinder and 1502cc displacement," said Haines.
"All three models have many of the technical advancements Suzuki pioneered in the four-stroke category, including digital sequential electronic fuel injection and solid-state ignition for improved performance and efficiency," he said.
The 80hp DF80 is an entirely new entry for Suzuki Marine, which it said would open up even more options for boatbuilders and customers to find the perfect combination of power, price point and performance.
