The company, based on the Gold Coast since 1988, will design, build and install a new marina system and boardwalks to replace existing facilities.
Superior Group managing director John Hogan said the Sanctuary Cove deal was part of an upgrade by the resort’s owner Mulpha.
“The first units were in the water by mid-March and finished by April, in time for the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show,” said Hogan.
The Superior Group manufactures a large range of marine berthing, boat lift systems and pontoons, and counts Riviera and Mustang among its customers.
The Nerang-based operation now owns four brands - Superior Jetties, Superior Marinas (its commercial marina arm), Superior Transport and Superior Plastech.
While the group has been involved in commercial projects for many years, the Superior Marinas division was launched only late last year.
“Before we set up the commercial division we had worked numerous jobs including the Hope Harbour Marina on the Gold Coast, the Bundaberg Port Marina extension and Bongaree Jetty on Bribie Island,” said Hogan. He said his background in commercial operations meant a move into commercial marinas was a natural step for the company.
