Nothing on in September, and shopping for a new 74-footer? Then Cannes Yachting Festival is the place you need to be. Or more specifically, the Sunseeker stand at the aforementioned boating exhibition.
The British motoryacht brand has chosen the 2018 Cannes Yachting Festival as the venue to debut its newest craft, the Sunseeker 74 Sport Yacht.
With a claimed 38kt capability, the new Sunseeker 74 Sport Yacht boasts the latest design cues from the storied brand and builds on the hull and hydrodynamic performance of the recently launched Predator 74.
The Sunseeker 74 Sport Yacht features an expansive flybridge with helm station, plentiful seating, dining and sunbathing options and with optional bimini and wet bar upgrades.
The sports side profile is defined by oversized pillarless windows. These, with the addition of a helm sunroof, ensure the main deck is a bright airy space. And, Sunseekers says: “depending on the owner’s wishes, the 74 Sport Yacht can be transformed into an ‘open’ yacht in warmer regions or a ‘closed’ yacht in cooler climates with an innovative cockpit door mechanism which lowers itself into the sole of the yacht.”
Sunseeker’s normal high level of fit and finish will be on display in the new 74. The main deck salon is “considerable” and features a “sumptuous lounge and dining area, plus an optional storage unit port side,” says the boat builder.
“Below deck there is a generous galley and three spacious en-suite cabins, comprising an aft master stateroom, starboard twin and forward VIP. The master cabin benefits from an optional walk-in wardrobe,” Sunseeker adds in its promo blurb.
Optional layouts include: “a walk-in wardrobe for the forward VIP, an extended galley arrangement complete with lounge and breakfast bar seating, or an additional twin guest cabin which would allow the yacht to accommodate up to eight guests in a four cabin arrangement.”
No indication of pricing or the local launch of the Sunseeker 74 Sport Yacht yet. Rest assured, however, it’ll be the first question we ask the Sunseeker crew at the upcoming Sydney International Boat Show in August.
The Cannes Yachting Festival 2018 runs from September 11-16.
