Sunreef expands into superyachts

Three new luxury catamarans to be launched

After the successful launch of the two catamarans over 100 feet in 2010, Sunreef Yachts has announced that three new superyacht projects are well underway.

In August, the European shipyard will launch the new Sunreef 82 Double Deck catamaran that marks the start of a series of 80ft composite superyachts.

In March 2013, the Sunreef 80 Single Deck is scheduled for launch, followed by the highly anticipated 85 Sunreef power motoryacht catamaran due for completion later that year.

Sunreef expects the Double Deck catamarans to become superyachts of the future due to their exceptional onboard comfort, low fuel consumption resulting from their low draft, and optimal stability.

The Sunreef 82 Double Deck due for launch in August 2012 is privately owned and accommodates up to seven guests in one beam-wide owner suite, one VIP queen cabin and one guest twin cabin convertible to a double cabin with an additional Pullman bed, attended by two crew to assist the owner who is an accomplished sailor himself.

The impressive 64sqm cockpit holds a large dining table for up to eight guests, sunbathing mats, wicker arm- chairs, a flower area, and storage for diving equipment. The spacious flybridge is fitted with the main helm station, bar with barbecue and icemaker, large dining table and comfortable deckchairs, as well as a coffee table.

The Sunreef 80 Single Deck, due for launch early next year, is a dramatically different concept from the Sunreef 82 Double Deck.

Based on light displacement, performance and speed, the Sunreef 80 is intended for owners who wish to enjoy fast sailing adventures without giving up the comfort and fully-customised interiors.

For the first time on a Sunreef single deck catamaran, the owner suite (17sqm) will be located on the main deck, so the internal cockpit will include the navigation station, dining area, lounge zone and the owner suite on the front starboard.

Sunreef Yachts is also set to launch a brand new concept in luxury superyacht power catamarans in late 2013 with the 85 Sunreef Power.

Sunreef says the driving concept behind the new 85 Sunreef Power is maximising the exceptional space afforded by catamarans courtesy of their large beam, and to manage this space in the similar way as on motoryachts.

The generously sized master cabin is located in the front on the same level. The flybridge will include helm station and two lounging areas (inside and outside) while the frontal intimate terrace on the main deck will comprise jacuzzi and sun pads. Guest cabins with private bathrooms and crew quarters with direct access to the galley and storage will be located within the hulls.
