Sunreef 40 Open sets the stage

A new day cruiser designed for five-star entertaining, family flings and exploring the waterways in style

Using superlatives like vast, fast and furious, the new Sunreef 40 Open is attracting widespread attention and praise.

Basking in a spectacular international premiere at the Dubai International Boat Show, followed by the Singapore Yacht Show, the new and exciting Sunreef 40 Open is a dynamic power catamaran that takes speed and luxury to a higher level.

Applying a multihull design to a day-cruiser concept allows for a massive lounging space, accommodation options, and extreme stability at rest and underway.

A beamy alternative for classic day cruisers, the 40 Open Sunreef Power boasts twin fold-down cockpit sides to boost the already generous living space of the catamaran.

The volume below the aft sun pads conceals immense storage to keep the water toys and diving gear nearby, creating a perfect stage to launch diving forays.

The helm, fitted with tiered seating, is well protected and equipped. There's an easily accessible touchscreen to scroll through the boat's systems, while all driving controls lead to hand.

The bow dining area is said to use the beam of the boat expertly, providing for a maximum of surface with adjustable tables and abundant seating.

Depending on the owner's wish, this part of the deck can be turned into a comfortable cabin, perfect for overnight trips.

Space also exists down in the boat's hulls to house a bathroom, an additional bedroom or utility room.

Premium audio-video systems and individually selected tech gear, custom tailored upholstery and new layout solutions - the options to customise the 40 Sunreef Power are virtually limitless, the boatbuilder says.

The Australian importer/distributor of Sunreef, Brendan Hunt of Vicsail, is upbeat regarding the local prospects of the Sunreef 40 Open.

"The Open 40 Sunreef is one of the most exciting dayboats yet to be seen on the market and perfect for Sydney Harbour," champions Hunt, a long-time local boater, with plenty of insight.

"There's an innovative layout and excellent deck space, which only a cat can offer, along with exciting, fast and seakindly performance. Then comes the terrific access to the sea via the fold-down cockpit sides."

Underway, the boat's broad beam translates to extreme stability at high speeds. Naturally balanced, the 40 Open Sunreef Power has been designed o to provide a fast and safe pleasure-boating experience.
