Representing the famous Ferretti Group, Ray White Marine delivered more than a taste of Italy to the crowds at the 2016 Sydney International Boat Show and the buyers thereafter and well beyond.
The luxury boat importer and agent had three stunning releases including the most expensive boat of the show, one of the fastest big boats of the show, and certainly one of the coolest boats seen in Sydney.
"This is our first international boat show representing the Ferretti Group. But having been in the industry for 20-odd years we’re excited about this new venture and the new models," explains Brock Rodwell, International Sales Director of Ray White Marine.
Mr Rodwell says that these are exciting times for the Ferretti Group after a recent funding boost from parent company the Weichai Holding Group, leading to a stream of new luxury-boat releases across the full portfolio of brands.
"They range from the nine-metre Riva to the 90-metre CRN. In between these two extremes, your have boats from the Ferretti flybridge motoryacht collection, the Pershing high-performance sportscruiser range and the classic Riva stable, which has recently announced a new superyacht division up to 50 metres.
"We have some really exciting new boat deliveries coming to Sydney this summer already, so watch this space," Mr Rodwell told boatsales and BoatPoint, before expanding on his stunning Sydney boat show line-up.
FERRETTI 881 HARDTOP
Heading the Sydney boat show line-up, the Ferretti 881 Hardtop has twin 2200hp MTUs with vee drives. The expedition superyacht measures 90ft long which, according to our research at least, makes it the largest vessel at the show. At $11.8 million, it’s also the most expensive.
Configured especially for cruising around the Australian coastline, the Ferretti 881's features include additional fuel for a total of 11,500 litres and long range and reach, plus a lot of inbuilt redundancy of equipment and engineering.
"The boat has mini-ship systems within a 90-footer designed for exploring The Kimberly, the Abrolhos, Lizard Island, and beyond," Mr Rodwell adds.
The aft beach club is said to be the popular feature, giving you and your guests another three metres of teak-topped waterfront real estate and prime entertainment space.
PERSHING 64 SPORTS CRUISER
Next stop, the Pershing 64 Sports Cruiser. With a pair of 1620hp MTU engines with Arneson surface drives, this svelte 64 footer smokes to an amazing 45-knot top speed.
The hull is finished in stunning Pershing Pearl, a $370k upgraded paint job; there’s carbon-fibre reinforcing to create a one-piece windscreen; electronic sliding saloon doors that vanish inside the hull for a seamless indoor/outdoor experience; plus a modern oak finish throughout. Asking price is just under $3 million.
RIVA 33 'CARLO'
Last but not least, the classic Riva 33' Aquariva "Carlo" is bound to take your breath away. The custom mahogany boat is Bill Barry-Cotter’s own handbuilt masterpiece. The boatbuilding doyen was the only person to receive the plans from Carlo Riva himself and he built this super-cool timber runabout by hand.
The Riva is strictly for display purposes only and will be a showpiece alongside an Italian supercar, a Ferrari 488GTB to be exact, on the Darling Harbour marina.
