Stormy range for heavyweights

Stormy Lifejackets has just released a range of life vests that exceed the ISO 275 Newton rating, to offer a staggering 300N of buoyancy. These new vests have been developed for recreational boating, sailing and commercial industries and are available with or without the ISO12401 deck harness.

Newtons are the units which measure the upward force in water to oppose the weight of an immersed object. The 300N range is developed to adequately float weights over 120 kilograms. Therefore these products are ideal to for larger, heavier individuals in an overboard emergency. They are also suited to those wearing heavy wet weather clothing, or workers who are required to wear a tool belt or protective clothing.

The range consists of the Life Vest Premium 300N, Life Vest Premium 300N with harness; and the Life Vest Pro 300N.

All products use a 60 gram C02 cylinder and come with water-activated inflation as standard, but with the option to easily change to manual-only inflation if desired. An oral inflation tube is also standard.

All life vests have a hard-wearing outer layer, sealed on the sides with Velcro. The large inflation chamber expands from the side on activation to provide buoyancy. It is also marked with high-vis markings and has a signal whistle to aid in drawing attention when in the water.

The Life Vest Premium 300N has a back mesh panel and lined collar to provide a non-restrictive and comfortable fit while providing unrivalled safety for all boating. It uses a heavy duty waist belt with a leg strap to adjust buoyancy angle in the water and has a lifting loop to aid rescue. The Harness version has D-ring included to be suitable for sailing or commercial working environments.

The Life Vest Pro 300N is a sailing specific product that replicates the features of the Premium 300N with Harness, but has the added features of an expanding spray hood and a SOLAS approved water activated light.

All Stormy Lifejackets can be adapted to include pockets for safety equipment or embroidery for customisation in the Hobart manufacturing factory. The 300N range is also available in fire resistant and fire retardant materials for commercial industries and are custom built to exact requirements.
