The 1.3m Riviera, built especially for the occasion by a group of the company’s apprentices and covered in colourful images of the children’s hands, was launched into the central lake at Dreamworld.
The Starlight Children's Foundation of Australia was founded in 1988 with the mission to brighten the lives of all seriously ill and hospitalised children and their families throughout Australia.
The day started with a trip along the Coomera River aboard a luxury Riviera boat. After the cruise, the children returned to the Riviera factory complex to enjoy face painting and rides and to make their mark on the Riviera model. Every Starlight child placed their signed hand image on the hull of the boat before its official launch.
