Stacer's new stars for 2014

Australia's favourite tinnie brand Stacer this week lifted the lid on a host of new models at a Gold Coast media event. Some boats plug gaps in the company’s otherwise extensive range, while others take the brand to exciting new places. Affordability was another key driver of design, as were eye-catching and well-proportioned looks.

According to Stacer's Account Manager, Drew Jackson, the new lines of the 519 Assault Pro were inspired by motorcycle design and we reckon that's evident in the racy-looking console.

“The 519 Assault Pro is rated up to 135hp to get you to your fishing spot quickly,” said Jackson. “And it’s got a 77-litre underfloor fuel tank so you can stay out longer,” he added.

Other features include dual batteries up front for your electric motor and the option of a rod locker for today's casting outfits that measure up to seven feet in length.

Pricing for the 519 Assault Pro will start from a tad over $40K. The boat pictured was optioned up. With a vinyl wrap, electric rod locker, bow-mount thruster plate, bimini and an Evinrude 135 HO E-TEC the rig cost $45,503.

“The Sea Runner range replaces the Ocean Runners and is focusing on value for money,” said Jackson at the launch. “We want to offer a basic, well-priced boat which owners can option up to suite their needs,” he added.

This Sea Runner is a great little all-rounder for the family or fisherman and, with a 115hp E-TEC, trailer, safety gear and rego, will cost just under $34,000. The boat features carpeting throughout, a comfortable rear lounge, rod holders, telescopic stainless-steel ladder, split bow rail and a three year warranty.

Even though the boat is a handy 5.25 in length, it can carry up to seven people. Not that you would, but it's volume belies its size. We took the 509 Sea Runner boat for the best part of a day out on the Gold Coast Broadwater and will bring you a full report soon.

“Our new Seaway is rated to carry up to five people," which is a huge change Jackson says, "and great for families looking for a manageable runabout they can still take the kids out in."

Other major changes to the 429 Seaway include 3mm bottom and sides and a new rating up to 50hp. If you want to go fishing, the 429 can be optioned up with a live-bait tank, extra rod holders, radios, bimini and more.

And a boat, motor and trailer package will come in at less than $20K!

New to the range is the 619, the flagship Easy Rider, with a LOA of 6.09 metres and a beam of 2.48 metres.

Jackson said that the new Stacer bowriders have changed proportionally. 

“This year, with our bowrider range, we have proportioned the size of the bow and cockpit space specifically to each model, which has seen an increase in bow sizes across the range.”

The 619 Easy Rider comes with a 160 litre fuel tank and is rated to 175hp.

The new boat, called the 449 proline Angler, has an overall length of 4.49 metres and a beam of 2.04 metres. It joins the 399 and 429 models and is designed with all the features of a larger fishing boat in a compact fishing machine.

Jackson said the 449 Proline Angler has been sought after by customers for a long time, so the company was expecting good orders on this model.

“The boat is very fishing focussed,” he said. “And with the extra space we were able to rate the boat up to five people and increase the horsepower rating up to 50.”

Standard pricing on the 449 Proline Angler will start at around $12,250.
