Stacer dipped its toe in the plate-boat market in 2012 with the launch of the 649 Ocean Ranger. The boat proved such a success that the company couldn’t keep up with demand. So Stacer has decided to expand the concept to a full range of plate boats.
Launched to the media on the Gold Coast on March 13, the new range includes nine models with a selection of side console, centre console, cabin and har-dtop designs.
The range includes the 489, 509 and 539 Nomad Ranger and the 589, 619, 679 and 739 Ocean Ranger with the 679 and 739 also available as a Hard Top model.
Stacer’s National Sales and Marketing Director Damian Duncan said that expanding in to the plate market was necessary for the company: “Plate boats are a huge growth market,” Mr Duncan told BoatPoint and boatsales. “We need to be in that market and our customers and dealers told us they want a range like this.”
The new range of Stacer plate boats is built to handle offshore conditions with 5mm bottom sheets and an internal sub frame.
Stacer says that the EVO Advance Hull punches through rough water for a dry ride, excelling in offshore conditions handling chop with a soft and easy ride for passengers. We put the 679 Hard Top to the test in some sloppy offshore conditions and must concur.
Stacer National Account Manager Drew Jackson said that following the release of the 649 Ocean Ranger in 2012, customers wanted more and this resulted in the expanded range: “We have developed the range further due to customer and dealer demand, and after being released at our dealer conference last week we’ve already received numerous orders for the new boats.”
“The range offers great value for money with heaps of features included with the standard model, like the live bait tank with a transparent front, welded rod holders, cutting board, kill tank and a sounder,” Jackson said.
“It is the first time we’ve released a true Hard Top model for Stacer and it’s very impressive being enclosed with a full glass windscreen and opening windows,” he added.
Watch for our full test of the 679 Ocean Ranger Hard Top soon.
