Stabicraft adds wing coamings

New wide coamings add safety, storage and seating to cost effective small boat range

Stabicraft Marine says it has responded to positive customer feedback by adding the popular Wing Style Coaming (WSC) design to the popular 1410 range.

Having previously only been seen on larger models like the 1850 and 2050 Supercab, the WSCs have been added to all three models in the 1410 range; the Explorer, Fisher and Frontier. The new coamings provide the boats with additional safety, storage and seating in what the company says is its most cost effective small boat range.

The top of the new WSC provide an all-round extended seating position for anglers to sit while fishing and the outside 'wing' design deflects any spray or water when underway in choppy conditions.

The new wider coamings feature welded-on cleats and are 65mm higher than existing coamings, which increases safety. The additional height also allows better use of space for storage with up to 3.4m of uninterrupted space available in the Explorer and Frontier models – ideal for those long soft bait rods.

Fishermen will also reap the benefits of four rod holders and four Stabicraft Multiholders, a soon to be released Stabicraft designed Railblaza product,  intended to carry either drinks, tackle and/or mobile phones.

One of Stabicraft’s most popular models, the 1410 Explorer can be powered by as little as 20hp tiller outboards while the Fisher and Frontier models perform well with 30-40hp outboards, we're told. All three boats share the same 4.3m hull, the same marine-grade alloy construction and positive buoyancy. 687 litres of sealed air encircle the hull giving both positive and level flotation should the vessel be swamped.

Stabicraft Managing Director, Paul Adams says the upgrades made to the 1410 range are an evolution and add more value to the models.

"The 1410 has been a successful evolution from the 389 range which was a mainstay of the Stabicraft line up for eight years – and remains one of the company’s biggest selling models. The 1410 boasts intrinsic stability and safety features which are core attributes of every Stabicraft. Now, this latest evolution featuring the innovative Wing Style Coamings, ensures every Stabicraft features the same market leading levels of safety, innovation and functionality," says Adams.
