Stabicraft 1850 Supercab

"Most innovative Stabi yet"

Stabicraft Marine has released its all new and innovative 1850 Supercab at the recent New Zealand Boat Show, scooping the ‘All Purpose Under 6m’ award on the same weekend.

Not only was the innovation of the new model a hit with the judges, Stabicraft received eight confirmed orders for the 1850 Supercab over the boat show period

"We think we’ve nailed it, it’s a boat that can be towed easily and has everything a serious fisherman and his family wants -- all with the comfort of a Supercab and the quality and dependability of Stabicraft," said Tim van Duyl, Stabicraft Marine’s Marketing Co-ordinator.

Stabicraft says the 1850 Supercab is a smaller boat with big-boat features. "The cockpit feels a lot larger than you would expect from a 5.6m boat and it fishes accordingly," said Stabicraft. "It is safe and stable at rest and yet rides softly, providing a great platform for a family day on the water."

The new 1850 Supercab carries Stabicraft’s Game Chaser Transom™. It features a profiled transom to deflect water thus reducing drag, enhancing reversing speed and all-important manoeuvrability when trying to land that prized fish at the next tournament.

Reminiscent of the popular Superfish Transom, the topside of the transom features a centrally mounted 66-litre live bait tank with glass screen and integrated filleting board and rod holders.

On either side of the bait station are fold up corner seats, these spaces have been purposefully designed to be comfortable fishing spots giving great casting access around the stern and sides of the boat as well as seating for the family or when needing a rest.

Stabicraft says that further innovation can be seen in changes to the pontoon design. "By angling back where the shoulders meet the sides, we have reduced the amount of contact area between the pontoons and water when coming off waves softening the ride. Visually this change has also advanced the angular and aggressive look of the 1850 Supercab."

Powered by a Yamaha 90hp two-stroke outboard, the 1850 Supercab can achieve an impressive 33 knots (61km/h). Powered by a 115hp outboard, the 1850 Supercab will top out at 38 knots (71km/h). With the standard under floor 120-litre fuel tank, the 1850 Supercab has capable offshore range.
