Sirena is a Turkish motor yacht brand that specialises in a range of semi-displacement motor yachts ranging between 18 and 30 metres in length.
One model the brand’s Australian distributors, Eyachts, says is well suited to the Australian environment is the Sirena 58 Coupe.
Plumb bowed, measuring 18.6 metres in length overall and with a 17.0-metre waterline and a 5.4-metre beam, the 58 Coupe is designed as a bluewater-capable tourer that maximises onboard comforts and interior volume.
Onboard are three staterooms, the main using the full amidships beam and each with its own ensuite, with the option of crew quarters if you’d prefer to have a skipper onboard rather than steer yourself.
Depending on your needs, you can get the Sirena 58 Coupe in a two-cabin layout – the forward stateroom’s bed swaps from backing onto the forepeak to backing onto the bulkhead – or a three-stateroom layout with a shared day head for two of the suites.
The big benefits of the coupe over the flybridge-equipped model is the lower air draft – handy if you need to pass under bridges, a much more aesthetically pleasing profile and a roomier saloon as there’s no need for a staircase to access the upper level.
The Sirena 58 Coupe is built in sections, with the hull, deck and superstructure forming the three elements. The superstructure and hardtop of the motor yacht is built using carbon hybrid fabrics that add strength while reducing weight, while bulkheads are made using a PVC foam core skinned in fibreglass to reduce weight while maintaining strength.
The hard-chined semi-displacement hull is designed to reduce the amount of wetted surface making contact with the water but needs significantly less engine performance to push through the water at higher speeds. The semi-displacement hull design also makes the boat more stable at rest than a conventional displacement-hulled equivalent.
The Sirena 58 Coupe features a sun lounge up on the bow accessed via wide side decks running down either side of the saloon.
Down the back, the Sirena 58 Coupe features a large swim deck leading up to a decent-size cockpit with an aft lounge with a table that can also double as a dinette. The area is partially covered by an extension of the hardtop.
Entry to the saloon is via a sliding glass door. To starboard, the space features a compact galley, while opposite is an L-shaped lounge filling the void where the staircase to the flybridge-equipped model would normally sit.
Amidships in the saloon are a U-shaped dinette to port, and another L-shaped lounge to starboard.
Up front is a two-seat helm station to port, while to starboard is the staircase that descends to the atrium leading to the below-deck accommodations.
Powering the Sirena 58 Coupe is a pair of 670hp Volvo Penta D11 diesel engines, with the option of increasing performance to 900 Volvo Penta D13s. Owners can also fit the motor yacht with CAT engines, either 650hp C8.7 or 850hp C12.9 diesels.
The Sirena 58 Coupe will cruise comfortably at a speed of around 16.0 knots and maximise range at 10.0 knots, with top speeds ranging between 27 and 30 knots depending on the engines selected.
Range at 10 knots and using the 3600 litres of fuel carried onboard – with a 10 percent reserve – is estimated at around 850 nautical miles.
The Sirena 58 Coupe carries a CE Category A, meaning it is built to handle ocean passages.
