The Renegade series of boats by Queensland-based plate alloy boat-builder Quintrex have had a long and loyal following among the Australian fishing community.
Of these, the Quintrex 460 Renegade SC has remained one of the flagship models. Bare boned, cheap and effective, the boat is described as the “ultimate no-fuss fishing machine”.

The Quintrex is made in the company’s Gold Coast-based factory from 3.0mm thick pressed plate aluminium and features “all the fishing essentials” that will get new owners out on the water straight out of the showroom.
That includes forward and rear casting platforms, a fully carpeted floor, bow roller, forward and aft side rails, Angler Pro seats, console with windscreen, four rod holders, side pockets, dual transducer mounting brackets, battery tray, transom step and rail, and an aft live bait tank.
Powering the Quintrex 460 Renegade SC is a 75hp Evinrude inline outboard engine, the maximum-rated for the transom.
The boat is also sold with an alloy braked trailer fitted with 13-inch wheels.
Options for the Quintrex 460 Renegade SC include a plate on the bow for fitting an electric trolling motor, a bimini and clears, forward live bait tank, full-length side rails, upgraded seats, fold-out drink holders, side pocket rod storage, and a 77-litre underfloor fuel tank.
We’ve tested the 460 Renegade SC before, although fitted with a 70hp Yamaha F70 outboard engine, and found the hull to have a low planing speed and a 30 knot-plus top speed.
The boat is listed on boatsales.com.au priced from around $30,000 depending on the factory options fitted.
