The brief for the Princess V60 when the boat was launched a couple of years ago was simple; build a comfy luxury motor yacht, but ensure it has a sporting pedigree to get places quickly and comfortably.
The deep-vee hull, 19.2-metre Princess V60 is built as an entertainer, featuring a social cockpit, an aft galley that splits the cockpit and saloon, and more than enough seating.
Twin transom gates provide access to the large rear hydraulically operated teak-inlaid swim deck that can support up to 450kg – enough to stow a 3.3-metre tender or a jet ski.
Transom steps allow access to the cockpit even while the swim deck is lowered, while a hot- and cold-water freshwater shower mounted in the transom allows them to rinse off saltwater before stepping aboard.
The cockpit space includes a wetbar with barbecue, and a U-shaped lounge space that can also double as a sunbed.
The saloon is equipped with a sunroof, while an open-plan dining area backs onto the galley space. Sliding doors separate the saloon from the cockpit and seal out the weather when the sun doesn’t shine.
The galley includes a full-height refrigerator, combination microwave and convection oven, and four-hob cooktop.
Below decks, up to six people can take advantage of three sleeping spaces, including a full-beam owner’s stateroom and a VIP suite built into the bow. Each of the accommodations has an opening porthole, as do the master stateroom ensuite and shared day head and shower.
Owners also have the option of adding separate crew quarters in the lazarette that’s normally providing for extra storage.
Powering it are twin 1200hp 16.2-litre MAN V8 inboard engines that will push the Princess V60 along at speeds of up to 36-38 knots depending on how it is optioned and what’s carried onboard.
At the helm, the Princess V60 features a 16-inch multifunction display with chartplotter and sounder, with a separate 9.0-inch multifunction screen showing engine, fuel and rudder status.
The boat is also fitted with trim tabs to help balance the Princess V60 while it is running, and features a bow thruster to help with tighter manoeuvring in marinas and anchorages.
The Princess V60 is priced from around $3.5 million depending on options with lead times of around 18 months between placing an order and taking delivery if an earlier build slot does not open up. Princess Yachts are available in Australia via Princess Yachts Australia.
