The Pardo 38 is the smallest of a three-model luxury day boat line developed by Cantiere del Prado, an Italian luxury powerboat brand.
Clean, uncomplicated and sleek, the Pardo 38 is a centre console with a walkaround side deck, a for’ard section dedicated to relaxing, an aft cockpit especially suited to entertaining, and a vast swim deck.
If the Pardo 38’s sleek lines and inverted wave-piercing bow look familiar, you may have noticed that it is the official chase boat for the AC75 Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team, itself chasing after America’s Cup line honours on Auckland harbour.
The forward sun lounge is large enough for three people. Down the back, the twin settees in the dining area that normally seat up to six people can transform to provide another three sunbeds.Silvertex fabric is used throughout the exposed areas.
But the Pardo 38 is more than just a dayboat, as it’s just as comfortable as an overnighter. Downstairs, owners can specify the boat trimmed in oak with either a single cabin with a double bed and separate shower and electrically flushing head, or with a second cabin adding two single beds.
A key option is an electrically deployed bimini that extends from the carbon-black T-top back over the top of the stern dining and lounge area.
The standard engine layout is a pair of 280hp Volvo Penta V6 inboard petrol engines connected to a stern drive, with a 300hp Volvo Penta D4 and 380hp/440hp Volvo Penta D6 diesel engines also available.
But the Pardo 38 can also come equipped with outboard engines for those owners wanting a bit more simplicity and ease of servicing.
Those choices are twin Mercury Verado V6 outboard engines producing either 300hp or 350hp, or triple 300hp outboard engines.
According to Pardo, the 38 will plane from around 14 knots, with a maximum speed of about 50 knots with the three-outboard engine option.
Maximum range is estimated at up to 350 knots.
The Pardo 38 is available via Sydney-based brokerage Eyachts.
