Longreef Yachts is an Australian owned and operated highly customised luxury yacht brand established in 2017 with the aim of creating a range of comfortable and practical boats with a low cost of ownership.
One of Longreef Yachts' growing portfolio of products is the Longreef 60, a 60-foot motor yacht featuring shaft-drive engines, three separate staterooms with the option of a crew cabin, and the choice of either a flybridge (SX) or sedan (SY) layout.
It slots in between the entry-level Longreef 50 LY – a smaller 40-foot Longreef is under development that will one day slip in under it – and the flagship 90 LX.
While all Longreef’s motor yachts are designed and engineered here in Australia, to help with production costs the boats’ hulls and decks are manufactured in China. The boats use Australian products, such as the swim platforms, wherever possible, and much of the fit-out including the electronics is completed in Brisbane before the boats are handed over to their new owners.
Standard features across all Longreef models include:
The three-stateroom Longreef 60 SX can come as either an open flybridge (SX) model with a bimini covering the open area or as a coupe-styled Sport (SY) model.
The master stateroom with its private ensuite runs the full beam amidships and includes plenty of storage including hanging robes, and a chaise longue. Other accommodation includes one room with two singles, and a forward guest stateroom with a double bed. Both share a day head and shower.
A crew cabin aft can double as a children’s retreat when not in use.
An under-roof staircase leads from the cockpit up to the flybridge. It features a superyacht-style radome arch, a huge aft lounge area with an expanding dining table that’s shaded under a bimini, a forward sunbed and a helm station.
The Longreef 60 SX features a large saloon with an aft galley built in front of the bi-fold glass bulkhead leading out to the cockpit. The raised helm station sits in front of a two-seater lounge, and adjacent to another large seating area to starboard that includes a dinette.
Powering the Longreef 60 SX are a pair of 550hp Cummins shaft-drive engines. Longreef says it has passed over pod drives for the shaft-drive system’s ease of maintenance and reliability with low-speed maneuverability enhanced using bow and stern thrusters.
