Bennington’s Q25 is a pontoon boat with layouts to suit just about all occasionsIn the US, pontoon boats are a popular choice for boaters who, over summer, take to the country’s inland waterways in their thousands.
It’s why brands such as Bennington Boats are thriving. However, while the pontoon boat has become a popular lifestyle choice in the US, in Australia they’re still something of a novelty.
Bennington doesn’t just build pontoon boats. Instead, it builds high-performance, tri-hulled “tritoons” that are more stable at rest and on the move, and very much focused on an active outdoor lifestyle across a range of budgets.
Bennington’s Q line of pontoon boats are the most luxurious it makes. Of these, the 8.2-metre Bennington Q25 is the Swiss army knife. This is because it is available in nine seating and layout configurations, ranging from a boat that can double as an on-water taxi to an opulent floating cabana complete with its own bar and grill.
The focus on lifestyle means much of the attention of Bennington’s layouts for the Q25 focus on the aft section of the boat. Here, the owner can choose from 19 different layouts with a U-shaped bench with rear-facing seatbacks on either end called the Quad Bench, a Swing Back that turns forward-facing seats into a huge rear-facing lounge, or a Stern Lounge with two aft-facing lounge seats.
Of course, you can also select your own colour scheme throughout the Bennington Q25.
The overall design of the Bennington Q25 includes a large deck space that extends out over the bow, creating a huge amount of real estate for the pontoon boat’s size.
Options are plentiful, ranging from a targa arch stretching overhead to a pop-up changeroom. You can also do things such as audio system upgrades and make the seating even more premium.
The Bennington Q25 can also come with a number of hull performance upgrades that increase the size of the outboard engine you can fit to the boat, and the number of people onboard.
At the lower end, the Bennington Q25 comes with a maximum 150hp outboard engine fitted, but at the upper end, and with the ESP Plus upgrade, that jumps to 450hp.
