Bayliner's DX2000/DX2050 series of open bowrider deck boats have landed in Australia. Buyers can choose from three different interior layouts, each model available with outboard or sterndrive power.
Outboard engine models are known as the DX2000s, while the MerCruiser sterndrive models carry DX2050 badging.

The first of these 10-seat bowrider deck boats to reach our shores was the DX2000 Dual Console full-windscreen model. This spacious family fun boat was unveiled at the recent 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show by Gold Coast Based-dealer C Worthy Marine.
Soon after the reveal of the dual console model, C Worthy Marine took delivery of a second DX2000, the new boat offered with the side console "Entertainment" layout and paired with a Mercury 150hp ProXS four-stroke outboard.
The DX2000 Entertainment model has more of an open plan layout than the dual console boat. There is no windscreen to effectively divide the interior into half, so it is easier to move back and forth from the bow to the stern.
The Entertainment model does not have the port-side passenger console either. Instead, it is equipped with a storage unit, topped by a sink with a tap fed by a 35-litre freshwater tank.
The third of the DX2000 layouts differs again, with comfortable lounge seating stretching the full length of the boat down the port side. It does not have a passenger console or the sink/storage unit of the Entertainment floorplan.
Otherwise, the three interior layouts are identical. All models have a broad, U-shaped moulded seating area in the bow, topped by removable, clip-on padded cushions.
Three large safety gear storage lockers are located underneath the bow seats.
Australian-specification models also get the infill board and centre cushion to convert the seating area into a wide sun lounge. Remove the cushions and you have a useful elevated casting deck for anglers.
There is much more seating in the rear of the Entertainment model; an L-shaped lounge stretching aft of the sink/storage unit to wrap around the perimeter of the cockpit.
There is ample storage space underneath these seats, along with a plumbed live well.
Behind the lounge is a massive sun pad with adjustable backrest and a cavernous storage area underneath, which can be fitted with an optional Dometic fridge/freezer.
There's also a sub-floor ski locker, starboard side transom boarding walkway with storage locker, stainless steel cup holders and handrails everywhere, and teak-look Sea-Dek flooring throughout.
At the helm, the low-set fascia has space for analogue engine gauges and bracket-mounted electronics displays, while the tilt-adjust steering wheel and side mount throttle are ideally positioned.
Slide the deluxe pedestal helm chair forward, and the skipper can drive the boat with car-like comfort, legs tucked under the dash in the included footwell.
Ergonomically, the DX2000 works very well. Nothing to gripe about here.
The Bayliner DX2000 has a noticeably squared-off deck shape, but below the waterline it has a conventional 17-degree vee hull which provides excellent stability, a comfortable ride, and superior load carrying capabilities.
The hull is rated to accommodate up to 10 adults, and we have no reason to doubt this claim. That said, if you were to regularly load up with this many people, then we would advocate fitting the maximum 150hp Mercury four-stroke outboard engine.
The DX2000 will likely perform adequately with the standard 115hp EFI Mercury four-stroke, but the boat will be a lot more fun to drive with the bigger outboard engine.
Lightly laden, the DX2000 can achieve a top speed of 40 knots with a Mercury 150hp ProXS outboard on the transom.
Through high-speed turns and figure-eights, the DX2000 offers up just the right amount of cornering grip, enough to thrill your family and friends, but not enough to scare them.
C Worthy Marine has package prices for the Bayliner DX 2000 Entertainment model starting at $76,690, before rising to $81,590 with the upgraded Mercury 150hp ProXS outboard.
Both prices include a galvanised steel tandem-axle trailer and lots of standard features.
Some of the extra gear on locally delivered models includes a bimini cover, stainless steel fixtures package (cupholders, fuel-filler, hatch latches, rub rail), hydraulic steering, waterproof Bluetooth AM/FM stereo with two speakers, ski tow pylon, portable chemical toilet, transom shower, automatic bilge pump, and the infill board and cushion for the bow seating area.
There's also the option to configure the boat for tow sports with a wakeboard tower and board racks, or perhaps set it up for fishing with a bow-mounted electric trolling motor, casting deck and forward pedestal seat.
