Yachting Australia has signed a sponsorship deal with safety equipment manufacturer RFD to help fund the Sports Services and Training programs run by the sailing body.
RFD is a world leader in the manufacture and supply of life rafts, PFDs, EPIRBs and other marine safety equipment.
YA and RDF will work together on the IRC Rating System certification program to provide IRC certificate holders with a range of offers and opportunities surrounding RFD products.
The IRC rating system has been operating for nine years and more than 500 yachts are rated each year for competitive racing.
Yachting Australia's CEO Phil Jones says he is happy to have RFD supporting the Sports Services and Training programs.
"RFD has a long history of supplying quality safety and survival equipment to the yachting industry and we're very happy to have the company backing a number of important YA programs into the future," Jones says.
