British modern classic yacht brand Spirit Yachts will mark its Australian debut with an official launch at the 2024 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
The brand, which builds a large range of cruising, racing and power yachts from wood and epoxy, has appointed Sydney-based consultant Kevin Wallis as the brand’s Australian representative.
Spirit Yachts, founded in 1993, takes classic 1930s-era designs with long overhangs, low profiles and smooth designs and modernises them for today’s owners.

The yachts are built using the highest quality sustainable timber and using the latest technology. They are designed and commissioned to suit an owner’s individual criteria, which makes every boat built unique.
Australia is a new market for the globally expanding brand.
Spirit Yachts managing director Karen Underwood said Wallis was a keen sailor who was full of enthusiasm and passion for the brand.
“Based in Palm Beach, northern Sydney, Kevin and his team are perfectly placed to extend our high standards of customer service into Australia and New Zealand,” Underwood said.

“As a company, we pride ourselves on the strong relationships we have with our owners and clients, so it’s a natural next step to expand our in-person representation into key markets around the world.”
Wallis’s experience has included sailing from an early age with racing in Australia and New Zealand, including competing in the gruelling Sydney Hobart yacht race.
Wallis and his team will be at the 2024 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, which runs from May 23-26.
