Smartgyro, the stabiliser brand that made its Australian debut at this year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, has launched the SG20 optimised for boats ranging from 45 to 55 feet.
The launch of the SD20 now means that Smartgyro has a complete range of stabilisers to suit boats ranging from 35 to 70 feet in length.
Smartgyro claims it is the only gyroscopic stabiliser maker on the market that can assemble, maintain and service its units directly inside the boat without needing to lift them out and ship them back to the factory.
“Our mission when developing the SG series of gyro stabilisers was to elevate the entire boating experience for users and deliver significant advantages for OEMs, offering a solution above and beyond superior stabilization,” Smartgyro marketing director Sander Gesink said.
“We are therefore delighted to launch our latest model to the industry and bring Smartgyro’s unique design benefits to more boaters so they can maximise their time on the water and enjoy a positive experience of life on board,” Gesink said.
“The key advantages of the new SG20 are the cost and time savings created because complicated maintenance activities and servicing can be performed on the bearings onboard without removing the whole unit, plus the stabiliser can be assembled directly inside the boat.
“Our customers can be assured that our technology also offers high performance and efficiency to virtually eliminate rocking motion – a leading solution that is at least 10 per cent less costly than similar products.”

The Smartgyro SG20 measures 0.76m x 0.77m x 0.65m and weighs 495kg. Its rated speed is 9500rpm, with an angular momentum of 5900Nm/s.
Smartgyro said the SG20 would be available for shipment from early 2022 at a European market retail price of €39,500 ($A64,000) before installation and taxes.
The Smartgyro range is available in Australia via Pacific Maritime Solutions.
