Sea Jay Boats has released a stunning new 5.6 metre version of its Plate Xtreme aluminium plate Striker fishing boat that is bound to be a head-turner around the country.
The outstanding features of the new boat are the sleek, sweeping gunwhale that has been borrowed from the company's 6.8 metre hulls and the two presses in the side sheets to provide extra style and rigidity.
The console in the new vessel has been made smaller and repositioned closer to the stern to maximise deck space and allow a huge fishing platform. The new area ahead of the console is also large enough to enable fishermen to roll out a swag and camp aboard the boat if its if too far from their favourite fishing area to the launch ramp.
Two underfloor dry storage cavities have been built under the step-up floor. One is large enough to store a 120 litre Esky, thus keeping the working area free of clutter.
Seating, on two upholstered seats mounted on removable pedestals, can be arranged to satisfy various conditions and six seat mounting sockets are fitted around the boat.
A substantial 200 litre fuel tank has been squeezed under the floor to ensure fishermen can reach their favourite grounds with fuel to spare. As with all Plate Xtreme models the fuel tank is sealed and positions so neither fuel nor fumes can leam into the bilge.
