Skippers save time going online
Almost 100,000 registered recreational boats now added to WA's online registration serviceBoat registration payments are now part of the millions of online transactions being undertaken each year using the WA State Government's online account DoTDirect.
Transport Minister Dean Nalder said the successful DoTDirect online service had now been expanded to include the almost 100,000 registered recreational boats in Western Australia.
"Boat owners now have a fast, convenient and secure way to pay their annual boat registration," Mr Nalder said.
"This is about improving customer service for boat owners and providing an easy, convenient registration renewal process, just as they have had for their motor vehicles."
Since its introduction in 2013, more than 112,000 Department of Transport customers have registered to be part of DoTDirect, benefiting from secure payment of vehicle and driver's licence renewals; reminder alerts for licence expiry dates; easy licence and demerit point checks; and other services.
The Minister said for the first time, boat owners can now view their boat registration details and their vehicle and driver's licence information in the one convenient location online from a single login.
"We are continuing to streamline online transport-related transactions for West Australians," he said.
Later this year, other transactions related to jetties, pens, moorings and the Recreational Skipper's Ticket will become available through DoTDirect.
