Skandia Geelong Week - 2008 Dates

The dates for Skandia Geelong Week 2008 have been formalised

Australia's largest sailing event will be staged from Thursday, January 24 through to Monday, January 28, with the historic Williamstown to Geelong race scheduled for Australia Day, Saturday, January 26.

In announcing the program, Skandia Geelong Week chairman, John Kint, said: "We set records in all the key indicators earlier this year and the volume of positive feedback has been absolutely overwhelming.

"Therefore we have made the sensible decision to carbon copy a very successful format," he said.

The prestigious Audi Series will begin in Melbourne on January 24 and culminate in Geelong on Sunday, January 27. The Sydney 38 National Championship and the Bundaberg Rum National Sports Boat Series will be staged exclusively in Geelong over three days from Friday, January 25.

All other classes and the shoreside entertainment program will be held over the Australia Day long weekend from Saturday, January 26 and finishing on Monday, January 28. The dates and format of the Docklands Invitational are yet to be finalised.
