Simrad Yachting is proud to announce its partnership with Fish for Life, the Australian charity that will see skipper Mark Ratchford complete a 16,500km circumnavigation of Australia’s coastline to raise much-needed funds for Cancer Council Australia.
As the sole permanent crew member, Ratchford will be joined by a series of fishing enthusiasts as over 90 legs of the trip are auctioned off for charity. Fundraising events will also be held in every capital city, and at many other stops along the journey.
To assist in this endeavour, Simrad Yachting has donated a marine electronics package, valued at $10,000 (RRP) to be installed aboard the Fish for Life boat. This ensures Mark will have access to the latest technology for safe navigation and effective fish-finding, with a simple interface that’s quick and easy for his constant supply of new crew members to learn.
Fish for Life will begin its campaign in June 2016, departing from the Melbourne Boat Show on an extended fishing trip that will cross three oceans, four seas, one gulf, one bight, and two straits. The event will include 120 days of fishing, and span a total of five months from mid-June to mid-November.
