Silent Yachts, the Spanish electric cruising catamaran maker, has now launched its own battery-powered tender to help it take its products completely off-grid.
The new Silent Tender 400 is a 4.0-metre long, 2.0-metre wide electric boat made from lightweight carbonfibre to keep the boat’s mass to a 90kg minimum before the outboard or jet engine is attached.
The new tender can carry up to six passengers, with a claimed speed of more than 20 knots across the water.
“Marking the beginning of a range of fully electric tenders, the Silent Tender 400 perfectly complements the experience on board our solar-powered catamarans,” it said in a statement announcing the new tender.

“Following the same philosophy as our yachts, it was developed with a strong focus on being lightweight and highly efficient.”
The tender – still a concept after its 2022 Cannes boat show reveal – is expected to fully integrate with Silent Yachts’ range of fully electric cruising catamarans that use solar energy to repower the onboard systems.
It is also expected to seamlessly integrate with Silent Yachts’ range of VisionF hybrid yachts that combine diesel generators with solar panels and a bank of batteries.
Silent Yachts also plans to add an electric rigid inflatable boat to its showroom.
